This was past down to me from my grandfather on my father's side (May be older than that).

Ingredients
(butter, eggs, flour, lemon, milk, sugar, vanilla)
1 pound butter4 cups flour3 cups sugar6 eggs1/2 cup milk1 teaspoon vanilla extract1/4 teaspoon lemon extract1/4 teaspoon almond extract (not in original recipe)
Directions
Cream butter, slowly add sugar 1/2 cup at a time, creaming between additions. Add eggs one at a time mixing well between additions. Add Milk and mix well. Add the flour 1/2 cup at a time. Mix will be very thick at this point. Add flavors.Cook in a greased Angel’s food cake pan (with removable bottom) for 90 minutes at 350 degrees F. At end of time shut off oven and allow to cool without opening door (this helps form a firm top crust, my favorite part).Try adding chocolate chips.
